What the remap actually does
The ECU remap removes the EGR system from the engine's software. The ECU stops sending commands to the EGR valve. The valve stays physically in the engine but the engine no longer uses it, and the conditions that cause carbon fouling, valve failure, and fault codes are eliminated at the source.
“EGR removal” and “EGR delete” are the same service. Same modification, same OBD port connection, same outcome. Whichever term you searched for brought you to the right place.
Fault codes logged against the EGR system are cleared as part of the process. Limp mode triggered by an EGR fault resolves. The modification is permanent, the same EGR fault does not return.
