What's included in the £220

We come to you. Book a time, tell us where you are, and one of our technicians will arrive at your home, workplace, or wherever suits you within our 40-mile radius of Eccles.

Once on site, we connect to your vehicle's OBD port and remap the ECU to disable the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system in software. No parts to order, no garage bay to wait for. The whole job typically takes around an hour from plug-in to sign-off.

What's included:

  • The call-out to your location
  • The full ECU remap to delete the EGR
  • All labour and equipment

The price does not cover any additional faults your vehicle may have beyond the EGR. If there are other issues present, those would be quoted separately, but the EGR delete itself is always £220, nothing more.

How does £220 compare to the alternatives?

Most garages dealing with EGR problems go down the replacement route. A new EGR valve, fitted, typically costs between £300 and £700 depending on the vehicle, and that's before you factor in the likelihood of it needing cleaning or replacing again further down the line. EGR valves clog. It's what they do.

An ECU remap removes the EGR from the equation entirely. One visit, one cost, job done. With over 7,000 vehicles worked on, we've seen the cycle plenty of times: drivers who go the replacement route are often back within a year or two facing the same issue and the same bill.

At £220 flat, the EGR delete remap typically costs less than a single valve replacement, and there's no repeat cost on top of it.

No call-out fees. No surprises

We don't charge extra to come to you. Whether you're in Salford, Stockport, Bolton, or anywhere else within our 40-mile coverage area, the price is £220. That's it.

No parking charges passed on. No fuel surcharges. No admin fees. Just a flat rate that covers everything from the moment we set off to the moment we're done.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an EGR delete cost?
An EGR delete via ECU remap costs £220 at The EGR Specialist. This is a flat rate that covers the full job, call-out, remap, and labour, with no additional fees. For off-road use only.
Is there a call-out charge?
No. There is no separate call-out charge. The £220 covers everything, including us travelling to your location anywhere within our 40-mile coverage area around Eccles, Greater Manchester.
Does the price include the remap?
Yes. The £220 is the all-in price for the ECU remap that deletes the EGR in software. There are no separate remap fees, diagnostic fees, or labour charges on top.
Is EGR delete worth the money?
For many diesel owners, yes, particularly those who are tired of repeat EGR valve cleaning or replacement costs. Garage quotes for EGR valve work typically run from £300 to £700+, and the valve will often need attention again within a few years. An ECU remap removes the system from the equation at a lower upfront cost with no repeat bill. That said, EGR delete is for off-road and track use only, so it's important to factor in your intended use before going ahead.
