Terms and Conditions
These terms apply whenever you book a job with The EGR Specialist, whether that's an EGR delete, EGR cleaning, or a related diagnostic. Please read them before booking. If anything is unclear, call us on 0161 694 7331 before you go ahead.

Who we are
The EGR Specialist provides mobile EGR delete and related diesel EGR services, attending your home, workplace, depot, or site. We're powered by SGR Automotive, based at Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Nasmyth Business Park, Eccles, Manchester.
Our services
We offer the following:
- EGR delete: a software-based ECU remap that removes the EGR valve from the engine's software, preventing exhaust gas recirculation. No physical parts are removed. Flat rate of £220. This is for off-road and track use only. See the legal disclaimer below.
- EGR cleaning and diagnosis: assessment and cleaning of an EGR valve affected by carbon build-up. This is a road-legal service, priced according to the vehicle and the work required.
- EGR valve replacement guidance: we do not sell or fit replacement EGR valves ourselves. Where a valve or cooler has physically failed rather than simply fouled, we'll tell you honestly, and you'll need to source a replacement, typically from a dealer or independent garage.
All services are mobile. A technician comes to you rather than you bringing the vehicle to a workshop.
EGR delete: important legal information
Please read this section carefully before booking an EGR delete.
EGR delete is intended for off-road and track use only. Once the EGR system has been removed from the engine management software, the vehicle is no longer compliant with UK road use emissions regulations. Driving a vehicle with a deleted EGR system on UK public roads is against the law and the vehicle is likely to fail its MOT.
By booking this service, you confirm that:
- You understand the vehicle will no longer meet UK road-legal emissions standards once the work is carried out.
- You are having the work done for off-road, track, or another purpose where road-legal emissions compliance does not apply.
- You are solely responsible for how the vehicle is used after the work is completed, including compliance with any relevant laws in the setting where it's used.
The EGR Specialist and SGR Automotive accept no liability for any consequences arising from the vehicle being used on public roads, or otherwise used in a way that breaches emissions regulations, after an EGR delete has been carried out. This includes but is not limited to fines, prosecution, MOT failure, or insurance issues. Responsibility for the vehicle's use after the work rests entirely with the customer.
If you're at all unsure whether an EGR delete is right for your situation, ask us before booking, or seek independent advice. In most cases, a road-going vehicle should have EGR cleaning or valve replacement rather than a delete.
Booking and payment
- Bookings can be made by phone or email. We'll agree a time and location with you before confirming.
- Payment is due on completion of the work, by card machine or bank transfer.
- EGR delete is priced at £220 flat, with no call-out charge. EGR cleaning and replacement guidance is confirmed by phone, as it depends on the vehicle.
Cancellations and rescheduling
We understand plans change. We ask for as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rebook.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice where possible, so we can offer the slot to another customer.
- Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect our ability to offer future bookings.
- If our technician is unable to attend due to circumstances outside our control (for example vehicle breakdown, severe weather, or illness), we'll contact you as soon as possible to rearrange at no extra cost.
Warranty and guarantee
We stand behind the work we carry out. If a fault reoccurs that relates directly to the remap we performed, get in touch and we'll look into it. Our warranty covers the workmanship directly related to the job carried out, for a reasonable period following completion. It does not cover unrelated faults, general wear and tear, a valve or cooler that later fails due to a separate mechanical issue, or issues caused by third-party work carried out after our visit.
Liability
We take reasonable care and skill in carrying out all work. However:
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage or faults unrelated to the work we're carrying out.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the customer's use of the vehicle after the work has been completed, including as set out in the EGR delete section above.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
