BMW 7 Series EGR delete
Airport runs, chauffeur work, a director's car that idles outside meetings for half the day. The use that fouls a 7 Series' EGR is the use we come out to. Mobile software delete, £220.
Call 0161 694 7331. We come to you within a 40-mile radius of Eccles.
For off-road and track use only.
How the 7 Series gets used
Most diesel 7 Series in the North West are working cars. Chauffeur firms and executive hire run 730ds on airport transfers from Manchester and Liverpool, wedding work, and corporate accounts where the car waits outside with the engine running so the cabin stays warm. Company directors run them as long-distance cars that spend the other half of the week doing four-mile trips across town. Older E65s and F01s go on to private-hire plates and second owners who bought a lot of car for the money and want it to keep going.
Every one of those weeks fills the EGR. The engine idles for an hour at arrivals and never gets hot enough to burn soot off the valve. The town miles are cold-start, low-load running that coats the intake. Even the motorway cars sit in stop-start traffic at either end of the journey. On the six-cylinder diesels the cooler takes the heat and, with age, starts to leak coolant into the intake.
What changes after the delete
No more limp mode on the way to a pick-up, and no EGR codes bringing the engine management light on before a client gets in. The ECU stops commanding the valve, so a sticking valve is no longer a fault the car can see. The circuit is closed in software, so exhaust gas stops passing through the cooler and the coolant-loss route closes with it. The valve and cooler stay in place and stop being used. There is no repeat cooler bill, no second valve. The car stays where it is parked and is back in use inside the hour.
7 Series engines we cover
730d E65, 2002 to 2008
The M57 six-cylinder. Cooler failure on high-mileage cars and valve sticking are the pattern, and by now every E65 is a high-mileage car.
730d and 740d F01, 2008 to 2015
The N57 six-cylinder, single turbo in the 730d and twin turbo in the 740d. Cooler leaks are the defining fault: coolant loss with no leak to find, then smoke on a cold start.
730d and 740d G11, 2015 to 2022
The B57 six-cylinder. A newer engine with a shorter record, and what has come through is cooler-led, the same as the N57 before it. Same remap.
Every diesel 7 Series is covered. See BMW EGR delete for the rest of the range, or call 0161 694 7331 for a variant not listed.
More than one 7 Series
Chauffeur and executive hire firms are the usual case: three or four 730ds on the same account, none of which can be off the road on the same day. We come to the yard or garage, do the cars one after another around the booking sheet, and each is back in use within the hour. £220 per vehicle. Send us every reg beforehand and we confirm engine and ECU type for each car before we set off.
