Nissan NV400 EGR delete
Tippers on site, Lutons on multi-drop, chassis cabs hauling plant. The use that fouls an NV400's EGR is the use we come out to. Mobile software delete at your yard, depot or site, £220.
Call 0161 694 7331 with the reg and we will confirm the engine and a time.
For off-road and track use only.
How the NV400 gets used
The NV400 is the big Nissan, and it does big-van work. Builders run it as a tipper or dropside, moving spoil and aggregate between site and tip a few miles apart. Removal firms and parcel subcontractors run the Luton and the high-roof panel van on multi-drop rounds where the engine is switched off at every address. Hire fleets put it on 3.5-tonne chassis cab duty with a body on the back and a trailer behind. Between them, a typical week is hundreds of cold starts, long stretches of idling with the tail-lift running, and very little sustained speed.
That pattern is what fills the EGR with carbon. Recirculated exhaust gas carries soot, and soot only burns off when the intake stays hot for a proper stretch of the day. Idling and short hops never get it there, so the deposits build on the valve until it stops seating, and the cooler behind it clogs and eventually leaks.
Many NV400s also spend their working hours on ground that is not a road: housing developments, quarry tracks, farm lanes, compound yards. That is the use this service exists for.
What changes after the delete
The ECU stops commanding the EGR valve, so a valve stuck open or shut with carbon can no longer trip limp mode or store a P0400-series code. The EGR circuit is closed in software, so exhaust gas stops passing through the cooler and the route by which a leaking cooler pushes coolant into the intake is shut. There is no repeat valve bill, because the valve is no longer in use. The van stays where it is parked, the remap takes about an hour, and it is back on the job the same afternoon with the fuelling, boost and torque exactly as Nissan set them.
NV400 engines we cover
NV400 2.3 dCi, 2011 to 2022
Every NV400 sold in the UK carries the Renault M9T 2.3 dCi, in single-turbo and twin-turbo forms across outputs from around 100 to 170 PS. It is the same engine as the Renault Master Mk3 and the Vauxhall Movano B, and it fails the same way in all three. The valve sticks with carbon and the ECU logs P0401 or P0404, or the cooler fouls and starts weeping coolant with no puddle underneath. The twin-turbo versions work the EGR hardest and are the ones we hear about most. Later Euro 6 versions carry the Blue dCi badge.
The whole engine range is covered. Other Nissan vans and pickups are on the Nissan EGR delete hub. If your NV400 is a variant not listed, call 0161 694 7331 and we will confirm from the reg.
More than one NV400
If you run four NV400s, we do four in one visit, at the yard or depot, worked around your shift pattern so the vans go out as normal. £220 per vehicle, no call-out charge on top. Send us the reg for each van beforehand and we confirm the ECU type on every one before we set off, so nothing is held up on the day and each van is off the job for about an hour.
