EGR delete in Barnsley
£220 flat. Software-based. We come to you in Barnsley.
For off-road and track use only.
The cost comparison
An EGR valve replacement is typically a £300 to £700 job fitted, depending on the vehicle, whether there are complications with corroded fixings, and what labour rates apply in your area. For a van that has already been through one replacement, or one replacement followed by a cleaning cycle, that cost mounts up quickly alongside the time off the road.
A software EGR delete costs £220. One visit. No parts to order. No garage slot to wait for. The EGR valve is disabled in the ECU permanently, and the fault codes are cleared before we leave. There are no repeat cleaning schedules and no second replacement down the line.
If you also need the DPF removed, we can handle both in the same visit for a combined price of £445. That is a single appointment covering both modifications, with no second call-out.
The comparison is straightforward. The software delete costs less than a replacement valve in most cases, lasts indefinitely, and does not require the vehicle to leave your yard.
The service
A software EGR delete is an ECU remap that removes the EGR valve from the engine's operating map. We connect to your vehicle through the OBD diagnostic port and write a modified map that stops the engine management system from commanding the EGR valve. The valve itself stays physically in place, nothing is unbolted, no blanking plate is fitted, no engine bay components are disturbed.
Once the remap is written and verified, the ECU no longer monitors the EGR circuit. Fault codes related to the EGR system are cleared. Limp mode caused by EGR faults does not return. The modification is permanent and does not require any follow-up visits.
Vehicles covered
We work on a wide range of diesel vans and commercial vehicles. Common vehicles include the Ford Transit (TDCi and EcoBlue variants), Mercedes Sprinter (CDI), Vauxhall Movano and Vivaro, Volkswagen Transporter and Crafter, Renault Trafic and Master, and Fiat Ducato. We also carry out EGR deletes on diesel cars across most mainstream makes.
Compatibility is subject to available tuning files for your specific make, model, engine, and year. Call us before booking to confirm, give us the make, model, engine size, and year and we will tell you straight whether we can do the job.
Local context
Barnsley sits alongside a major motorway corridor and has a high concentration of commercial vehicle use, construction, logistics, and trade operators running Transit-sized vans through the town and out to sites across South Yorkshire. The main routes into Sheffield and Wakefield all see heavy van traffic. Stop-start driving through the town centre and short-run work to local sites is the kind of use pattern that causes EGR carbon build-up to progress quickly. These are exactly the vehicles and driving conditions the software delete is designed for.
Legal notice
EGR delete is for off-road and track use only. A vehicle that has had an EGR delete does not comply with current UK road emissions regulations and must not be used on public roads. This is the legal position, not a recommendation or a guideline. The owner is responsible for how the modified vehicle is used. We carry out this modification for off-road, motorsport, and agricultural applications only.
