How the service works

The EGR delete is an ECU remap carried out through the vehicle's OBD diagnostic port. We write a modified map that removes the EGR cycle from the engine management system's operating parameters. The ECU no longer commands the EGR valve. The valve remains physically in the engine but plays no further role.

Will the EGR warning light go off after the modification?
Yes. The remap clears stored EGR fault codes and removes the EGR system from the ECU's monitoring parameters. The engine management system no longer checks the EGR valve, so the warning light associated with EGR faults will not come back on. If other faults are present and generating warning lights, unrelated to the EGR, those will need separate attention.
Can you reverse an EGR delete if needed?
Yes. The ECU remap can be reversed and the original map restored. The original file is retained before any modification is written. If you need the vehicle returned to its original software state, call us and we can arrange that. The valve has not been physically altered, so reversal is a software-only process.
