Fiat EGR delete
Ducatos on the multi-drop round, Doblos on the trade round, motorhomes parked up all winter between short trips. The use that fouls a Fiat's EGR is the use we come out to. Mobile software delete at your yard, depot or home, £220.
Call 0161 694 7331 with the reg and we will confirm the engine and a time.
For off-road and track use only.
How Fiat vans get used
Fiat's diesel range splits into vans and cars, and the Ducato carries most of the daily work. It runs as a long-wheelbase panel van on parcel and pallet delivery, a Luton on removals, a tipper or dropside for landscapers and builders, and the base for a large share of the UK's motorhomes and camper conversions. A Doblo or Fiorino does the same job in miniature: the courier's last-mile round, the locksmith's calls, the florist's morning drops, engine off at every stop.
That stop-start pattern is exactly what fouls an EGR valve. Recirculated exhaust carries soot, and soot only burns off when the intake runs hot for a sustained stretch, which a multi-drop round never gives it. Carbon builds on the F1A valve in the Ducato and on the 1.3 Multijet valve in the smaller vans until neither seats properly, and on the older units the cooler behind the valve clogs and, with age, starts to weep coolant. Plenty of Ducatos also spend part of the week off the road entirely: building sites, showground fields, farm gateways, and the campsite pitches where the motorhome versions sit parked for weeks between trips. That is the use this service exists for.
What changes after the delete
The ECU stops commanding the EGR valve, so a valve packed with carbon can no longer put the vehicle into limp mode or log a P0400-series code. The EGR circuit is closed in software, so exhaust gas stops passing through the cooler, and the route by which an ageing F1C cooler feeds coolant into the intake is shut. No repeat valve bill, nothing comes off the engine, and the van or motorhome stays where it is parked. About an hour, then back on the job with fuelling, boost and torque exactly as Fiat set them.
Fiat models and engines we cover
The F1A and F1C engines in the Ducato are the same units Iveco fits to the Daily, so a Ducato and a Daily can fail in exactly the same way for exactly the same reason. The Iveco EGR delete hub covers the Daily. The Ducato's earlier Ford-derived 2.2 was also fitted to the Boxer and Relay under other badges.
Ducato (X250 2006 to 2014, X290 2014 onward), 2.2 Multijet, Ford-derived, to 2011, 2.3 and 2.3 Multijet II F1A, 3.0 Multijet F1C to 2020, 2.0 Multijet 2011 to 2016, 2.2 Multijet 3 from 2021. The F1A's valve sticks with carbon and stores P0400-series codes; the F1C's cooler and valve both fail with age. See Fiat Ducato EGR delete.
Doblo, Fiorino and Qubo, 1.3 Multijet. The small-van version of the same valve-sticking fault, on vehicles that do the shortest urban runs of the range. No model page yet; we confirm from the reg.
500L, Tipo and Bravo, 1.6 and 2.0 Multijet. Shared with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and MiTo, and the fault is the same: carbon on the valve, then the fault code, then limp mode on a cold, low-load week. Confirmed from the reg.
Every engine above is £220. If yours is not listed, call 0161 694 7331 with the reg and we will check it.
More than one Fiat
Run a mixed fleet of Ducatos and Doblos on the same contract? One visit covers all of them. We come to the yard or depot, work around the shift pattern so the vehicles go out as normal, and each one is off the job for about an hour. £220 per vehicle, no call-out charge on top. Send the reg for every van when you book and we confirm the ECU type on each before we set off.
