How Iveco vans get used

The Daily is the vehicle behind most Iveco work in the UK, built as a panel van, a chassis cab for a tipper or dropside body, a Luton for removals, a minibus, or the base for a horsebox or motorhome conversion. A courier or parcel operator runs it multi-drop, engine off at every address. A horsebox or motorhome version does the opposite: long lay-ups on a yard or driveway between short trips to the show or the campsite, with the engine barely getting to temperature either way.

Both patterns foul the EGR the same way. Recirculated exhaust carries soot, and soot only burns off when the intake runs hot for a sustained stretch, which neither the multi-drop round nor the once-a-month outing gives it. Carbon builds on the F1A valve until it stops seating, and on the heavier F1C the cooler behind it clogs and, with age, starts to weep coolant. Plenty of Dailys also spend part of the week off the road entirely: building sites, showground fields, farm gateways and plant yards. That is the use this service exists for.

What changes after the delete

The ECU stops commanding the EGR valve, so a valve packed with carbon can no longer put the vehicle into limp mode or log a P0400-series code. The EGR circuit is closed in software, so exhaust gas stops passing through the cooler, and the route by which an ageing F1C cooler feeds coolant into the intake is shut. No repeat valve bill, nothing comes off the engine, and the vehicle stays where it is parked. About an hour, then back on the job with fuelling, boost and torque exactly as Iveco set them.

Iveco models and engines we cover

The F1A and F1C engines in the Daily are the same units Fiat fits to the Ducato, so the fault pattern is identical across both badges. The Fiat EGR delete hub covers the Ducato.

Daily (2002 onward), 2.3 F1A, HPI and HPT to 2014, Multijet from 2014, 3.0 F1C from 2006. The F1A's valve sticks with carbon and stores P0400-series codes on the lighter panel vans; the F1C's cooler and valve both fail with age on the heavier chassis cabs, tippers and motorhome bases. Same engines, same delete, whichever body is on the back. See Iveco Daily EGR delete.

Every engine above is £220. If your Daily's exact spec is not listed, call 0161 694 7331 with the reg and we will check it.

More than one Iveco

Run a yard of Dailys on tipper, Luton and panel-van duty? One visit covers all of them. We come to the depot, work around the shift pattern so the vehicles go out as normal, and each one is off the job for about an hour. £220 per vehicle, no call-out charge on top. Send the reg for every van when you book and we confirm the ECU type on each before we set off.

Questions from Iveco owners and operators

Can you come to a site, depot or farm to do an Iveco?
Yes. We are mobile only and cover a 40-mile radius of Eccles: Greater Manchester, most of Lancashire and Cheshire, and Merseyside. A haulage yard, a building site, a farm gateway or the drive outside your house all work. We need the vehicle, somewhere to stand for an hour and the engine able to start.
I run more than one Iveco. Can you do them in a single visit?
Yes. Several Dailys at one address in one visit is how we handle small fleets, whatever the body style: panel van, tipper, Luton and minibus in the same yard is one booking. Each vehicle is £220. Give us the reg numbers in advance and we prepare every file before we arrive.
How long is the Iveco off the road for?
About an hour, and it does not go anywhere. We connect at the OBD port where the vehicle is parked, read the stored codes, write the delete, restart and check the live data, then clear the codes. No parts to order, no drop-off. If it is already in limp mode when we arrive, that does not stop the remap.
Can you do the DPF and the EGR on the Iveco in the same visit?
Yes. Both deletes in the same visit are £445, and the DPF and EGR delete page explains what that covers. It takes a little longer than the EGR alone. If the DPF light has been on alongside the EGR fault, say so when you call and we prepare the right file for both.
