Which engine is in your F-Pace
One generation of F-Pace so far, three diesels. The four-cylinder is the one on most driveways and the one with the twin-circuit EGR; the V6s foul differently.
| Engine | F-Pace | Years | EGR weak point | |---|---|---|---| | 2.0 Ingenium D four-cylinder, 163, 180 and 240 PS | X761 | 2016 onward | High-pressure and low-pressure circuits; valve and cooler fouling on both, intake carbon | | 3.0 V6 D 300 PS, AJD-V6 | X761 | 2016 to 2020 | Cooler failure with coolant loss; valve faults | | 3.0 Ingenium D300 six-cylinder mild hybrid | X761 | 2020 onward | Newer; EGR record thin |
The Ingenium four-cylinder is the AJ200D unit also fitted to the XE, the XF and the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque, and it fouls the same way in all of them. The low-pressure loop draws exhaust gas from after the particulate filter and feeds it back in ahead of the turbo, so there are two valves and two coolers to carbon up instead of one. Ingenium timing chain and oil dilution problems are separate faults and the delete does nothing for them.
The 3.0 V6 D is the AJD-V6 from the Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport, badged SDV6 there. Its EGR fault is the cooler: coolant drops with no leak to find, white smoke on a cold start, then codes. The D300 that replaced it is a different engine with a short record so far. All three are covered, and other Jaguar diesels are on the Jaguar EGR delete hub.
How the delete is done on the F-Pace
You call with the reg and the engine.
We confirm the ECU type before we set off.
We come to the car
home, office car park or wherever it is parked within 40 miles of Eccles.
Pre-remap read of every stored code, so we know what else the car has logged.
ECU file read through the OBD port, the EGR delete written into it and the file flashed back.
Engine restarted, live data checked to confirm the ECU is no longer commanding either EGR valve.
Codes cleared, done.
Typically 60 to 90 minutes.
Nothing is removed. The valves and coolers stay in place and stop being used.
Delete versus replacement on the F-Pace
A single EGR valve is £300 to £700 fitted at an independent garage, and the Ingenium has two. The V6 carries a valve and cooler on each bank, neither of them quick to reach, so the hours push a dealer bill well above the valve range. An EGR clean is £80 to £200 and lasts until the same short runs foul it again.
The software delete is £220, once, whichever engine. If the DPF is blocked as well, the DPF and EGR delete are done in the same visit for £445.
Off-road and track use
The F-Pace EGR delete is for off-road and track use only. A vehicle with the EGR removed from its software does not meet the emissions requirements for use on a public road, and the owner is responsible for how the vehicle is used after the remap.

Which engine is in my F-Pace, and how do I check?
Does the delete cover both the high-pressure and low-pressure EGR on the newer F-Pace engines?
Is the F-Pace done through the OBD port, or does the ECU have to come out?
Does the delete change the power or fuelling on the F-Pace?
