Berlingos outside every house on the street, Dispatches on the fit-out job, Relays on the removal run and under half the motorhomes on the campsite. The use that clogs a Citroën's EGR is the use we come out to. Mobile software delete at your yard, depot or home, £220.

Call 0161 694 7331 with the reg and we will confirm the engine and a time.

How Citroën vans get used

The Citroëns we see are working vans and the vehicles built on them. A Berlingo is the one-person trade van: the plasterer, the locksmith, the dog groomer, the council contractor. It does eight or nine addresses a day with the engine off at each one, and the longest leg is the run to the wholesaler. A Dispatch carries the kitchen fitter, the shopfitter and the mobile tyre fitter, usually loaded to the roof, usually across town. A Relay is a Luton on removals, a tipper for the landscaper, a welfare van on a site, a minibus for the care home, or a motorhome that does 3,000 miles a year and spends the winter parked up at home.

None of that keeps an intake hot for long. Recirculated exhaust carries soot, and soot only burns off when the engine runs hot and loaded for a sustained stretch. Stop-start town work, tail-lift idling and the motorhome's long lay-ups between short trips all leave it to build on the valve until the valve stops seating. The older engines then clog the cooler behind it, and with age the cooler starts to weep coolant. Plenty of Relays and Dispatches also spend part of the week off the road entirely: building sites, showground fields, plant yards, farm tracks. That is the use this service exists for.

What changes after the delete

The ECU stops commanding the EGR valve, so a valve stuck open or shut with carbon can no longer put the van into limp mode or log a P0400-series code. The EGR circuit is closed in software, so exhaust gas stops passing through the cooler and the route by which a cracked cooler feeds coolant into the intake is shut. On BlueHDi engines with a low-pressure loop as well, both circuits are covered. No repeat valve bill, nothing comes off the engine, and the van never leaves the yard. About an hour, then back to work with fuelling, boost and torque exactly as Citroën set them.

Citroën models and engines we cover

Citroën's vans are Peugeots with different badges, and the Dispatch is also sold as the Toyota Proace, so the same faults turn up three ways. The Peugeot EGR delete hub covers the Boxer, Expert and Partner, and the Toyota EGR delete hub covers the Proace. The Relay is also the Fiat Ducato.

Dispatch (Mk2 2007 to 2016, Mk3 2016 onward), 1.6 HDi and BlueHDi DV6 to 2019, 2.0 HDi and BlueHDi DW10, 1.5 BlueHDi DV5 from 2019. The DV6 packs its valve with carbon and is the usual limp-mode call; the DW10 sticks its valve; the DV5 is newer with a thinner record. See Citroën Dispatch EGR delete.

Relay (2006 onward), 2.2 HDi 2006 to 2016, 3.0 HDi F1C to 2016, 2.0 BlueHDi DW10 2016 to 2019, 2.2 BlueHDi from 2019. The Ford-derived 2.2 cracks its cooler and loses coolant with no puddle underneath; the 3.0 has cooler and valve faults; the DW10 sticks its valve. See Citroën Relay EGR delete.

Berlingo (2008 onward), 1.6 HDi and BlueHDi DV6 to 2019, 1.5 BlueHDi DV5 from 2019. The same DV6 valve carbon as the Dispatch, on a van that does shorter hops still. No model page yet; we confirm from the reg.

C3, C4, C5, C4 Picasso, SpaceTourer and DS models, DV6 1.6, DW10 2.0 and DV5 1.5. The same three engines on cars and MPVs that do school runs and commutes. Confirmed from the reg.

Every engine above is £220. If yours is not listed, call 0161 694 7331 with the reg and we will check it.

More than one Citroën

Four Berlingos and a Dispatch on the same contract? One visit. We come to the yard or depot, work around the shift pattern so the vans go out as normal, and each one is off the job for about an hour. £220 per vehicle, no call-out charge on top. Send the reg for every van when you book and we confirm the ECU type on each before we set off, so there are no surprises on the day.

Questions from Citroën owners and operators

Can you come to a site, depot or farm to do a Citroën?
Yes. We are mobile only and cover a 40-mile radius of Eccles: Greater Manchester, most of Lancashire and Cheshire, and Merseyside. A courier depot, a building site compound, a farm, a caravan storage yard or the road outside your house all work. We need the van, somewhere to stand for an hour and the engine able to start.
I run more than one Citroën. Can you do them in a single visit?
Yes. Several vans at one address in one visit is how we handle small fleets, and a mixed fleet is fine: two Berlingos, a Dispatch and a Relay in the same yard is one booking. Each van is £220. Give us the reg numbers in advance and we prepare every file before we arrive.
How long is the Citroën off the road for?
About an hour, and it does not go anywhere. We connect at the OBD port where the van is parked, read the stored codes, write the delete, restart and check the live data, then clear the codes. No parts to order, no drop-off, no courtesy van. If it is already in limp mode when we arrive, that does not stop the remap.
Can you do the DPF and the EGR on the Citroën in the same visit?
Yes. Both deletes in the same visit are £445, and the DPF and EGR delete page explains what that covers. It takes a little longer than the EGR alone. If the DPF light has been on alongside the EGR fault, say so when you call and we prepare the right file for both.
