What the modification does
EGR removal, also called EGR delete, the two terms describe the same service, is a software remap of the ECU. The ECU is reprogrammed to stop commanding the EGR valve. Exhaust gas recirculation is disabled in software, permanently. The valve stays physically in place; no blanking plate, no hardware removal, no engine bay work of any kind.
The result: the EGR cycle stops, fault codes associated with the EGR system are cleared, and limp mode triggered by an EGR fault resolves. Because the modification lives in the ECU, it holds unless the ECU is deliberately reflashed back to standard mapping. A single visit, a single fix, no return appointment six months later when the fault returns.
