What the remap does
The ECU controls every system in the engine, including the EGR circuit. When we write the modified map, the ECU is retrained to operate without the EGR valve, it is removed from the engine's operating logic in software. The valve stays physically in place; the engine simply does not command it.
“EGR removal” and “EGR delete” describe the same modification. The terminology varies between garages, forums, and search terms, the work is identical. Once complete, the EGR fault code cannot return, limp mode triggered by the EGR system is permanently resolved, and the modification does not revert.
