How the modification works
The ECU is the engine's control unit, it manages the EGR valve's operation alongside every other engine parameter. A software EGR removal rewrites the portion of the ECU map that governs the EGR system, removing it from the engine's operating cycle entirely. The valve stays physically in place; the ECU simply stops instructing it.
“EGR removal” and “EGR delete” refer to the same modification. Both terms describe a software remap that disables the EGR system and clears the associated fault codes. The outcome is the same regardless of which term you searched.
