What the delete involves

A software EGR delete is an ECU remap carried out via the OBD diagnostic port. We read the existing map from the ECU, modify it to disable the EGR cycle entirely, and write the updated map back. The valve stays physically in place, nothing is dismantled, no blanking plate is fitted, no gaskets are touched.

Fault codes relating to the EGR system are cleared as part of the process. Limp mode caused by EGR failure does not return. The modification is permanent and does not require repeat visits or maintenance.
