DPF and EGR delete, combined mobile service across Greater Manchester
If your diesel has thrown a DPF warning and an EGR fault at the same time, you are not alone. On high-mileage vans and diesels used in stop-start driving, these two systems fail together more often than not. The good news is that both can be resolved in a single mobile visit, without you having to take the vehicle anywhere.
The EGR Specialist handles the EGR delete side. Our sister brand, Manchester DPF Cleaning (also powered by SGR Automotive), handles DPF cleaning and DPF delete. Between us, we cover both faults in one session, one visit, one call.
Important: DPF delete and EGR delete are for off-road and track use only. Vehicles with these modifications must not be used on public roads. This service is provided strictly for off-road and competition use.
Why DPF and EGR faults appear together
The DPF (diesel particulate filter) and the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve are closely linked in how a diesel engine manages emissions. When an EGR valve sticks or fails, it pushes more soot into the intake and accelerates DPF blockage. A blocked DPF, in turn, can cause back-pressure that strains the EGR system further. On vans doing short urban runs, deliveries, tradespeople, local contractors, neither system gets the sustained motorway driving needed to regenerate properly. The result is both warning lights on, often within weeks of each other.
A combined EGR delete and DPF delete addresses this at the root. Both functions are removed from the vehicle's ECU software, and the DPF filter is typically physically removed as well. The engine runs cleaner and is no longer managing two systems that were degrading each other.
What the service involves
EGR delete removes the EGR instruction from the ECU via a remap. The EGR valve is no longer commanded to open, eliminating the soot recirculation cycle entirely. The EGR Specialist has carried out this procedure on more than 7,000 vehicles across Greater Manchester and the surrounding area.
DPF delete removes the DPF function from the ECU software, and in most cases involves physically removing the DPF filter from the exhaust system. This is handled by Manchester DPF Cleaning, our SGR Automotive group partner, and is coordinated as part of the same visit where possible.
Both are software-based remaps carried out on-site at your location. There is no need to transport the vehicle to a workshop.
